Lex Lumina LLC was established in 2017 by Mike Kautsch, an educator based in Lawrence, Kansas, who long has focused on the relationship between the news media and the law. The purposes of Lex Lumina LLC include seeking resources to fund research and analysis of legislation that affects government transparency and expressive freedom. Lex Lumina LLC is intended to operate in coordination with:
